Same w/the piercings...a badge of honor of sorts. :-) I've noticed that my mind has been more easily able to focus especially when faced w/a physical task. The realization that it will soon pass is brought home time and time again. Being able to get past "the next 30 seconds" or "the next 15 minutes" rather than living in that very moment can be quite the victory. Our bodies thankfully have short memories...it's the mind that tends to hang onto things. Learning to let go is the true test. It’s very gratifying even though I don’t care to repeat the experience if at all possible. Same w/the piercings…a badge of honor of sorts. :-)
